The project

The Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy Plan (SSMS) for Gaziantep is a comprehensive  initiative aimed at enhancing the city’s transport infrastructure through the implementation of intelligent transport systems (ITS) and the promotion of sustainable mobility solutions. The project focuses on improving traffic management, integrating clean mobility services, and fostering the city’s capacity to manage future smart mobility developments effectively.

The fllowing activities are carried out:

-Develop and finalize the Gaziantep Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy (SSMS) and ITS Strategic Action Plan (SAP), integrating sustainability and environmental objectives
-Assess and improve existing ITS systems and services in Gaziantep
-Create an integrated platform for monitoring and managing multiple transport modes, including clean mobility services
-Conduct capacity-building programs for municipal staff on ITS and smart mobility practices
-Design and implement a communication and visibility strategy to raise public awareness

Within the project UNEEDIT is in charge of the following:

-Coordination of the overall activities of the project
-Support for the enhancement and integration of existing ITS systems in Gaziantep to improve functionality and interoperability
-Provision of capacity-building programs for Gaziantep Municipality staff, including training in ITS and smart mobility practices.
-Development of a comprehensive Communication and Visibility Plan to promote the project and engage stakeholders
