The project

The project targets the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from urban road transport by promoting electric mobility, through the implementation of a pilot project with 22 electric three-wheelers in Bujumbura. Thefollowing tasks are carried out:

-Conduct a pre-feasibility and feasibility study for a pilot project with at least 22 electric three-wheelers.
-Develop the pilot implementation plan, create a data collection framework (MRV – Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification), and draft the technical specifications and terms of reference for acquiring the EV and their charging infrastructure.
-Provide training for drivers and mechanics, assisting with the procurement of the EV and charging infrastructure.
-Compile and analyse the data collected from the pilot fleet’s operations to inform a final report.
-Prepare a replication plan to expand the electric three-wheeler transport concept.
