The analysis is carried out for a fleet of vehicles operating in the frozen food distribution channel of two commercial chains in the regions of Lazio and Umbria. Starting from the collection of data on the operational characteristics of the transporters, through the resolution of the ‘vehicle routing’ problem, the analysis allowed the optimisation of the routes and the distribution of the loads on the vehicles, according to the number of vehicles, their capacity and the location of the sales points (supermarkets).
