Framework

The project overall objective is to set-up, demonstrate and exploit 3 Hydrogen Valleys (HVs) starting from the implementation of clean, agile and small H2 fuelled buses.

The project

The project consortium consists of the following partners: Abruzzo Region, Società Chimica Bussi, CITRAMS (University of L’Aquila), Port Authority of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea, Port Mobility, Rampini, SNAM 4 Mobility, Municipality of Terni, TUA – Società Unica Abruzzese di Trasporto, UNeed.IT, University of Perugia, University of Guglielmo Marconi.

The HVs will be set-up in the following sites: historical city of Terni (Umbria Region); port of Civitavecchia (Lazio Region); altopiano delle Rocche (Abruzzo Region). The specific objectives are: (i) building- up the first transregional HVs taking advantage of synergies in H2 production and distribution; (ii) developing  in a common way a sustainable road Local Public Transport (iii) implementing integrated local policies and defining regulatory approaches for widespread deployment of H2 dispensing stations and fuel cells vehicles (iv) increasing circular economy by storing and using H2 waste from local industries like steel and chlorine-soda plants (v) creating a standard hydrogen mobility management system providing useful data to replicate the project (vi) raising citizens’ awareness and improving policy commitment to sustainable mobility and air quality.

Our role

UNeed.IT plays the following roles in the project: coordination of all the awareness rising and dissemination activities; support the design and implementation of the 3 demos with a specific focus on the Civitavecchia one; support to the Abruzzo Region in the project management; technical assistance in the analysis of the project results and impacts; support to the exploitation and replication activities of the project results.
